Moyvane B 1-12 Listowel Emmets B 1-9

Defending champions Moyvane qualified for the North Kerry League Final after a hard earned win over old foes Listowel in Duagh this evening.

Moyvane started very brightly and raced in to an early lead with a well taken goal from full forward Mike "Bull" O'Connor. With Jackie Mulvihill orchestrating matters from centre forward Moyvane tagged on further points through Mulvihill himself and also industrious wing forward Timmy Noonan.

Listowel slowly worked their way back in to the game through a goal from hard working corner forward Charlie O'Brien and had three unanswered points before the break to leave the half time score Moyvane B 1-6 Listowel B 1-3.

On the resumption Moyvane continued as they had started the previous half and tagged on further points from David "Crocket" Moloney and a beautiful score from the ever willing John Jack Mulvihill.

Listowel, realising that the game was now slipping away from them, began to make use of the strong wind in their favour in the second half.  They delivered long ball in to their full forward line which started to put the up to then secure Moyvane rearguard under pressure.

In a frantic final few minutes and with just three points between the teams Listowel went for a game saving goal but the Moyvane defence stood firm and they now advance to the final against St Senans B who defeated Clounmacon in the other semi final.

Best for Moyvane on the night were the ever dependable Timmy Kennelly and Michael Woods in the full back line, the tigerish Edmund Sweeney at wing back, Jackie Mulvihill at centre forward, until he had to retire injured early in the second half, and sub Kevin Fitzmaurice in the full forward line once introduced at half time. The evergreen Paudie Buckley was a constant threat for Listowel and he was ably assisted by corner forward Charlie O'Brien and wing back Billy Doyle.
